Cancer

Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled and abnormal growth of cells. Cancer can occur in virtually any organ or tissue and may lead to the formation of tumors and is a complex and often life-threatening condition.

The global burden of cancer is substantial, and with more than 9 million cases annually it is one of the leading causes of death worldwide.

Cancer is a complex group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. It arises from genetic mutations that disrupt the normal regulatory mechanisms governing cell division and growth. These mutated cancer cells, can form tumours and invade nearby tissues, often spreading to other parts of the body.

It is challenging to treat for several reasons, one being that it is a collection of hundreds of different types, each with its unique characteristics. Further, cancer cells often evolve and adapt, making them resistant to treatment and early detection is not always possible, as many cancers remain asymptomatic until they reach advanced stages.

Attgeno is pre-clinically exploring the potential of Supernitro for the treatment of various types of cancer, including solid tumour breast- and lung cancers.
